I just received my de razor today. And shaved with a level 4 aggressiveness on a 2 day old beard. And found shaving on a 45 degree angle was more effective. I had a good shave, cut free, just time consuming, a little not aggressive enough. I got an extremely close shave although. I'm going to think about a level 5 on a 2 day old beard though. I used feather de razor, proraso shaving soap, and proraso post shave.

They're surprisingly smooth razors, very smooth, up until around 4-4.5 on the dial. After that they get a little chatty with some blade play, or at least both my QShave and Mingshi seem to do so. (The MingShi is a bit better, as the spring has a bit more tension than my QShave example....I bought mine some time ago).

You can also tighten up the lean or movement of the cap with some small thin shims, which seems to markedly make them feel more aggressive. I used thin copper from the hobby store, however, somebody mentioned that aluminum can material works well and won't tarnish. Here's a link to how to do so: Futur clone Ming Shi 2000S

I'm going to try a 3 aggressive on a 1 day beard. And try to get used to the angle. Works superb on chin as well as my upper lip. Better then my other razors, much closer.

Had a great shave today with a level 3 aggressivenes on the razor. I just did against the grain though which I sometimes do. I don't know if it's recommended or not here. Took me 10 minutes. Such a smooth and close shave. I'm going to think of leaving the razor on a level 3 for day old stubble. I don't know about 2 day old beards yet.

I have one as well. On level 4 it already feels pretty aggressive for me. Tried various blades in it. The original Merkur Futur which I also have is a bit thicker on the head and handle but otherwise no big differences.

Thanks for the review. I find on all my adjustable razors that 3 is the best setting for me regardless of the brand of the razor.

I might think about getting the futur. I'm having excellent results with the knock off. Tried it with a level 2 aggressive today, with feather blade, no problems, no nicks cuts or anything. And I was being aggressive with the Qshave as well, and fast. Great for wtg atg xtg. Which xtg has been a problem in the past. Once again super close, super smooth using one of the sharpest blades on the market right now. This is my go to razor now! Super happy.

I just finished disassembling the Qshave. Cleaned it like new. Lubricated a couple of parts. Got the video on YouTube how to!

That's good that works for you. Just with my other 2 de razor models I could never cut hair across the grain for some reason. So it's definitely a good benefit for me. I'm not sure the reason though no matter what blade I used it would break skin with my other 2 de razors.

I recently ordered it from aliexpress. First shave with gillette sword wilkinson blade (made in India) was nice. No razor burns which I get from this blade if I use it with Bombay Shaving Cream's razor.

But I am now finding its cons. First, the angle it needs is more than 30 degrees. may be around 45 degrees. Another problem is that head being thick, I find it difficult to shave under the nose. Somehow, I don't feel one with this razor. I have done only 7-8 shaves with it till now. Hope it accepts me if I persist with it.

The first qshave I had had issues with the blade shifting a bit of you were not carefull enough causing a lot of trouble
The second one behaved a lot better
And a gilette silver blue is so far the blade that made it eat out of my hand instead of my hand.
they are chatty, have a big clunky head, do not like all blades but gosh they shave very nice even on low setting.

I set mine on 3 regardless or length of hair, I do a 2 pass shave wtg atg an get bbs all day long but I find it aggressive for me.

I would try a different blade
For me it was always a tricky beast until I tried a gilette silver blue which for me turned it puppy. I still use 1-3 though more is not needed for me.
